Introduction.

Over the years there has been a growing interest in the work of Unity and it's vision and for some form of Membership from around the world, from E-mail’s and people we meet on missions who have requested to join UNITY, has shown us the need to rectify this situation, so we started 'Friends in Unity' which allows those with the desire for the Unity of Christ's body to become an associated member of Unity and do something positive through the directions laid down below.

Our aim is to bring all Christian denominations throughout the world together in praise and worship praying for Reconciliation, Forgiveness and Unity and where possible to meet on the same day as we do, which is the last Saturday of the month.

Become an Associate Member of UNITY, as an individual, a Church, Organization or a Group and become part of a growing group of Christians, who are committed to building the unity

of Christ’s Church through reconciliation and forgiveness and by honoring and respecting each others beliefs and traditions and proclaim the Kingdom of God in one accord to all the world. We believe and are dedicated to the Biblical truth that we are meant to be one in and with Christ, and we work to strengthen the Christian witness that is found in unity.

As committed Christians we profess our belief in God through the NICENE CREED.

When God heard the cry of his people, he answered them, imagine what would happen if thousands

of us Christians from around the world of every denomination united together in praise and worship and committed themselves to praying and working for the Unity of Christ's Church, the barriers that divide

us would crumble.

Then the prayer of Jesus 'John 17: 20-23' would start to become a reality.

WHO ARE, FRIENDS in UNITY?
Friends in Unity are a group of people who have the desire for the unity of Christ's Church

(not unification) and are touched and inspired by the work of Unity and have accepted our vision.

They are individual people, families, groups, Churches, Organization and Communities who feel called to further the call for unity of Christ's body the Church by God and to support Unity in our work.

We realize that everyone that show’s an interest in the work of Unity cannot become an active member.

So we ask you to pray and ask God; “in which way you can help in forwarding His call for Unity”.

WHY SHOULD WE JOIN UNITY?

Unity enables you to stand with thousands of Christians from around the world who have the desire for to fulfill the prayer of Jesus in John 17: 21 'that all of them may be one' and come into unity honoring and respecting each other’s traditions, doctrines and Christian culture.

Membership will give a clear message to the world that we are one, even though we do have different

traditions. ‘Unity in Diversity’

Be part of a group that is working towards bring Christians of all denomination together in Reconciliation and Forgiveness.

Be an effective witness through our united fellowship.

If you are a Church or an Organization, we will invite you to appoint a representative who will be your contact person. They will receive copies of the Cornerstone Magazine and other information about what is going on in Unity.

We will put your views in our online magazine ‘Cornerstone’ and send hard copies to those who do not have access to the website. This will be sent out twice a year.

We will invite you to share what is going on in your parishes.

We will invite you to give us your views on Unity of Christ’s Church.

Pray daily for the healing of the Church, Pray for the Ordained Ministers in every denomination,

it's Lay Ministers and all those that are working for Unity.

Pray for us in Unity and it's needs.

It will be a real encouragement and blessing for them and us to know that we are held up

daily in prayer before the Lord by a large group of Friends from the four corners of the world.

We for our part will also remember you during our prayer time each day, asking the Lord to

meet your needs also.

Daily reading of the Bible can be a useful part of our personal prayer time. We strongly

encourage reading the Scripture every day.

Promoting Unity amongst the different denomination.

Making known the work of Unity to others.

Fasting is a powerful intercessory tool, If you are on medication that does not allow you to

adjust your dietary needs, there are other forms of fasting; leaving aside some of the things

we normally depend on.

Attending Unity Meetings (When Possible)

All are welcome to attend the Unity meeting, they are an opportunity for all God’s people from

every denomination to pray for Unity in one accord for the Church, to have fellowship with one

another. This helps to heal and strengthen the bonds between the Churches and develops new

friendships. People from all over the UK have traveled to attend Meetings and our Annual

Conference which we hold in September. This is a time of great blessing for us to see our

friends in person.

Pray for the website, that it draws many visitors, and that those who visit it will find and

develop Christian unity.

Mission Statement and Foundation of Faith

Unity is an Ecumenical group of Christians with a VISION of Reconciliation, Forgiveness and Unity

amongst all denominations.

MISSION

To serve God in providing the opportunity for Christians of all different denominations to come together

as one body in God’s presence seeking healing in the areas of reconciliation, forgiveness through

a series of Rallies, Monthly Meetings and Conferences in Charismatic Praise and Worship. These are held in Birmingham around the UK or wherever God is calling us to go, or set up Unity Groups based on our Mission Statement.

VISION

To invite speakers from different denominations.

To have a Conference with speakers from the Heads of the Roman Catholic, Anglican, Pentecostal

and Free Churches in England or anywhere in the world.

Finally to invite the Heads of all the Christian Churches from around the world to come together in unity

in the Body of Christ, honoring and respecting each others beliefs and traditions and proclaim the

Kingdom of God in one accord to all the world.

Unity does not discriminate between Christians, none Christians, age, status, gender or nationality,

it exists to provide the opportunity for all God’s people to come together seeking the heart of forgiveness

that Jesus has and the heart of humbleness to seek forgiveness or just seeking the Lord.

Unity does not permit in any form the interpretation or comparison of the Gospel it does not

need any other belief, philosophy or religion to edify or to validate its truth for the

Salvation of souls.

Nicene Creed

John 17: 22-23

I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one:

I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know

that you sent me and have loved them even as you loved me.

1 Cor 1: 10

I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you

agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be

perfectly united in mind and thought.

William Barclay in his book

'The mind of St. Paul' say's

"Because every Christian is in Christ, there can never be disunity between Churches.

Because every Christian is in Christ, there can never be a barrier" "The disunity of

the Church would be solved tomorrow, if man realized that Christianity does not mean

being in Church, but being in Christ".

When we realize this and walk in unity we express the fullness of Christ, it is in unity that

causes the world to believe. In Acts 2: 47 “we had the heights level of unity ever achieved

in the Church. Christ at His highest and Satan at his lowest”.

We believe that when Christians of every denomination throughout the world come

together in unity (not unification) in the One Body of Christ, honoring and respecting each

others beliefs and traditions, praising and worshiping and proclaiming the Kingdom of God

in one accord, then thousands if not millions will give their lives to Christ and we will truly

know that the Kingdom of God is here on earth and Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior will

truly be revealed to the whole world.

Unity is not a Church, Sect or has any Ministers, and it does not get involved

in anyway in starting churches.

All it’s speakers are Ordained Ministers, Lay Preachers, Teachers of scripture or Speakers recognized

by the Christian Church, Christian Fellowship and Christian Communities.

All unity members belong to a Christian Church and are encouraged to stay

in the church and denomination they belong to.

It is not the policy of unity to encourage people to change Churches or Denominations.

Experience has proved that when churches and agencies of different denomination pray and work together, is a catalyst and makes a positive change in God's Kingdom.

Article I Name

The group is called Friends in Unity a support group within Unity.

Article II Membership

Each individual or group will be registered as an Associated Member of Unity.

Article III Location
The office of the Friends in Unity is located in the building of the Unity Head Office Birmingham,

United Kingdom.

Article IV Mission
The mission of the Friends in Unity is to work within the Mission and Vision of Unity (can be

found on website) in bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ of reconciliation, forgiveness and Unity

to all Christian denominations.

Article V Goal
The goal of the Friends in Unity is to assist, in line with the goal of the Unity, to encourage

dialog between different Christian denominations

and where possible to assist in nurturing and developing them to come into Unity in the One Body

in Christ. (And NOT UNIFICATION – One Church/Denomination)

Article VI Authority

(a) Friends in Unity do not have any power or authority to represent Unity in an official

capacity or to operate independently other than to promote the work of Unity laid down

in Article IV & V above.

(b) No Associated Member as any authority to raise funds on behalf of Unity without the

written permission from the Senior Leaders of Unity.

(c) Any funds raised or contributions given for the work of Unity must be sent in full to

Head Office along with names, addresses of those that have contributed plus any

receipts or invoices incurred raising funds.

(d) If a member or members are found to be breaking any of the above and is proved to

have been or are raising money for there

own personal purposes or ministry, they will be removed as an associated member of

Unity and will be reported to the authorities

to country in which they live, and also to the authorities if in a different country to which

they live. They will also be named on our website.

(e) Any member found to be breaking any of the above, will be removed as an associated

member of Unity.

(f) All work carried out in Unity’s name is totally on a voluntary basis.

Article VII Functions
The basic functions of the Friends in Unity are prayer, outreach, meeting together,

communication, encouraging, and cooperation.

1. Principles in performing the functions

Ø To be servants for the ministry of the gospel of the Lord, to maintain the attitude of serving and

assisting.

Ø To follow the process of prayer and fasting.

Ø To honour the goal and guideline, set out in the Unity Constitution and maintain close

communication and cooperation with Unity.

Ø To closely cooperate with other Christian organizations and Churches, in the area that they live

to achieve Unity.

Ø Contribute toward spreading, organizing and activating intercessory prayers.

Ø Contribute toward organizing and activating worldwide prayer network.

Ø Assist Unity officers in their outreach activities.

Ø Support visits for the establishment of Unity throughout the world.

Ø Help where possible in preparing and promoting any function that Unity Organizes.

Ø Provide publicity support as and when required.

Ø Providing practical or financial support.
